On the 11th hour of the 11th Day of the 11th month of November we traditionally come together as a nation in collective remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in their selfless defence of the realm. It is a day during which we pause to reflect and pay our respects to those brave souls with a customary two minute silence and the laying of wreaths upon the plinths of our local cenotaphs.. The Royal British Legion has been at the forefront of those traditions with it's unwavering support of remembrance Sunday services. As the national custodian of remembrance, the Legion also believes that when 11 November falls on a day other than Sunday, remembrance should be brought into the everyday life of the nation on those days as well. The revival of support for observance of this demonstrates that, despite the passing of the years and the declining number of veterans, the nation still feels strongly about remembrance. This year Remembrance Sunday falls on the following day, the 12th of November.
