The date for the by-election in Quays ward following the resignation of Alex Warren (Lib Dem) has been set for Thursday 11th January 2024. Former Salford Quays Ward Liberal Democrat Councillor, Alex Warren, resigned his position within Salford Council to start what he said is the next chapter in his life working at Watford Council which he states he considers his life blood. The decision was prompted as by taking up the his new position at Watford, he legally could not continue his role within Salford Council. A request has now been received by the council from two registered Electors in the Salford area to hold a by-election in the Quays Ward of Salford City Council. The council has now confirmed on it's website that the by-election will take place on Thursday 11 January 2024. The nominations process commences on Monday 4 December 2023 and nomination papers can be returned by appointment, to the councils Elections Office, between office hours (8.30am to 4.30pm) until Tuesday 12 December 2023.
