A 64-year-old man is fighting for his life this morning following a hit and run outside of McDonalds on Bolton Road on the border of Swinton and Pendlebury at around 6:15pm last night (Thursday 2nd October).
A section of the road was cordoned off as emergency services treated his injuries at the scene before transporting him to hospital where he is said to be in a life threatening condition.
Police are urging anyone with dash cam footage or has information about the vehicle involved to come forward.
A spokesperson for GMP said:
"Collision investigators from Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information after a man was left with serious injuries after an incident in Salford. The 64-year-old man was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop on Bolton Road in Swinton, near to McDonald's, at around 6:15pm last night (2/11/23).
"He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition. Anyone with information, dashcam footage or who was in the area at the time should contact GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log 2833-2/11/23.
"Information can also be reported via www.gmp.police.uk or 101, or shared anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always dial 999."
