There will be just three candidates in the running for the vacant seat as Quays ward goes to the polls next Thursday. Paul Heilbron - Liberal Democrats, Elizabeth McCoy - Labour Party & Romero O'Brien - Green Party will all battle it out in the hope of filling the currently vacant position left behind after former Lib Dem councillor Alex Warren stepped down to take up a position on Watford council, which meant that he could not legally maintain his role on Salford Council. A request was received by the council from two registered Electors in the ward which triggered the by-election. The ward will go to the polls in the new year on Thursday 11th January. Polling booths will be open during the usual times of 7am until 10pm with the results being announced not too long after. Oddly there is no Conservative candidate listed which means that it will be a three-way race to the finish. To ensure that you can cast your vote you must be registered, which you can do by following the links and information on this page. You will have to act quickly though as time is running out to register with the deadline of this Thursday (21st December) .
