Police have launched an investigation following a break in at a local foodbank over the weekend. On Sunday (21/01/2024) at around 21:00 Irlam & Cadishead Foodbank was broken into, after a lone perpetrator forced open the access door. Once inside, the person has filled a black bin bag with food and toiletries, before leaving on foot. Police are looking to speak to this individual (pictured) as officers believe they may have further information in regard to this incident. This selfish act led to the Foodbank being forced to close and has caused £1000s worth of damage and loss, a cost that the none-profit charity will now have to endure. Police say they are currently following lines of enquiry, but should you have any information that may assist, please call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously - quoting reference 0526-22012024.
