Two new residential blocks could be built off Oldfield Road and Upper Wharf Street after plans have been revealed from a joint venture between Canal & Rivers Trust and developer Bloc. H20 Urban has submitted plans for its 204-appartment scheme for consideration by Salford Council. If the submission is successful in gaining permission, two blocks will be built set back from Oldfield Road, rising from seven to nine storeys tall. A 'Linear Park' will feature as part of the site, following the lines of the former Manchester, Bolton & Bury canal should the scheme be passed. The Upper Wharf Street site has been identified as suitable for high density residential development in the Salford Crescent Development Framework known as Zone Six ‘The Crescent’.
